When to go to Cala Granu and Porto Cervo
The apartments at Residenza Sea Smeralda can be let all year round. This page gives climate averages so that you can choose a period to suit what you want: warm sea, long days, regattas, or a stay out of season.
Sea and climate month by month
The figures are long-term averages for Olbia, the nearest station in the sources used, about 27 kilometres away; at Cala Granu they may differ, and the sources differ by about one degree.

From December to March the sea is at about 13 to 15 °C.
The seasons
April and May. The sea is still cool, about 14 to 17 °C, and the air reaches 19 to 23 °C. From 26 April to 1 May 2027 the Settimana delle Bocche is scheduled in Porto Cervo (source: Yacht Club Costa Smeralda). For regatta crews: team offers.
June. The sea is about 20 °C and the air 28 °C, with around six rainy days.
July and August. The sea is at its warmest, 23 to 24 °C, and July has the fewest rainy days (about two). On the drive from Olbia airport, traffic can add to the journey time.
September. The sea is still about 23 °C. In 2026 the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda held the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup from 6 to 12 September. Dates of future editions are on the Yacht Club’s website.
October and November. The sea falls from about 20 to 17 °C and days with some rain become more frequent. In season the beach has sun loungers, parasols, a restaurant and a lifeguard; ask which services are open on your dates.
October to April. For working by the sea there is the winter stay offer, from 14 nights, with Wi-Fi in every apartment.

When are the regattas in Porto Cervo?
The Yacht Club Costa Smeralda runs regattas at different times of year. The Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup ran from 6 to 12 September 2026; the Settimana delle Bocche is scheduled for 26 April to 1 May 2027. The official calendar is on yccs.it.
Are beach services available out of season?
The website lists sun loungers, parasols, a restaurant and a lifeguard in season. The exact dates are not stated: please ask in your enquiry.
